We have always believed that if you know that someone does good work, pass on the word. The links below are divided into 2 groups. One group is,of course, related to alpacas. The other group are businesses that we feel do a terrific job and can help you with the building or marketing of your business.
Alpaca Links
Alpacanation is a great place to start when you are considering to buy an alpaca.
AOBA is a treasure trove of information and a great way to find out about upcoming events.
VAOBA is a great way to learn about local events and farms in Virginia
Dr. B.J. Campbell is a wonderful, talented, and very informative alpaca vetrinarian.
Mount Airy Alpaca Company no longer sells alpacas, but their website is a valuable resource. They do sell advertising on their site, which has tremendous traffic. They also have a terrific video for sale. I would highly suggest that anyone who is thinking about getting an alpaca get their video, visit the site, and read their informative blog.
Mada Vemi Alpacas is in Axton,VA and is owned and operated by Dawn Dolpp. Dawn is a terrific person...one of my favorites in the alpaca business. To meet her is to love her. She is a ball of wonderful energy, who is willing to share her vast knowledge. She is extremely talented in fiber arts and has some beautiful items for sale on her site. She is trustworthy and honest. I am glad to call her a friend.
Sue Ives, of Alpacas of Nottingham Hollow, is another one of those women I a proud to call a friend. She will immediately make you feel at home and like you have known her forever. I kept hearing about her from Dawn and Kate, so I had to meet her for myself. I am glad I went for a visit. Yellow Rose of VA Alpaca Farm, Alpacas of Nottingham Hollow, and Mada Vemi Alpacas are all small farms and we will all give you excellent customer service.
Little Wing Alpacas in Scottsville, Virginia is owned by Amanda and Tom Schwab. Prior to starting their own farm, they had been caretakers of a very large alpaca farm. They gained alot of valuable experience and are very knowledgeable. They now have over 20 huacaya alpacas on their farm.
I must admit that I have never spoken to Theresa Reyes-Stassel who owns Hagen Heights Alpaca Farm; however, I have great respect for her. She contacted us and gave us information on a cria and suggested we put the information on our site as it might boost our breedings. I was very impressed that she went out of her way to help another farm. Kudos.

ElectricalWhen we decided to put in a generator and install electrictity in our barn, we called AML Electrical Contractors. The attention to detail and the exemplary service provided by AML Electrical made them an easy choice for us. We could not be more pleased by their service and would highly reccomend them to anyone.
A thought to ponder: if you are on well water and the electricity goes out, will you be able to get water for your alpacas. A generator can ease your mind. Call or email AML to discuss your options. Jon Boyd, the owner, is a master electrician and a wonderful christian man.

Embroidary Services
We knew that we wanted to get some embroidary done with our logo on it. We also knew that if we were going to spend the money getting an object embroidered, we wanted it to be high quality. We ordered nice, warm jackets (for those cold days in the barn), but found that some places would not put our logo on an object not from their store without charging an arm and a leg. Fortunately, while talking to a neighbor one day, I found that she did embroidary work from her home. Patricia Carter did a wonderful job on our jackets. She can even make a purse with your logo on it. Email her with any questions regarding your embroidary needs. Patriciacarter@earthlink.net.
A sweatshirt, jacket, purse, or bag with your logo on it is a great way to spread the word about your farm.

Photography
Renae Sykes is an independent photographer. The staff at Bluebird Gap Farm in Hampton call her their "professional volunteer" for the work she does with the animals and the rave about her photos. When they advised me that they would be bringing their photographer, I was excited to see how it would go. She is very good around the animals and would be great tool when you are thinking about doing a flyer. We all know the difference a good photo can make when marketing. Her E-mail address is sykes_photography@yahoo.com

Great Pryenees Breeder
I have been very happy with my new puppy, Harley Rose. I learned alot when searching for over a month for a great pryenees puppy. I learned that there is a huge difference in the price of working dogs and show dogs. I learned that many great pyrenees breeders were not very customer oriented. However, I also found Joe and Lea Read. They were very helpful and caring. Their dogs were priced very reasonably. They even met me in Roanoke to help make my drive shorter. Not to mention that I fell in love whith their puppy, Harley Rose, the minute I saw her. If you need a good working dog, call Jo-Lee's Pyrenees at 276-398-2240
